传说貔貅是一种威武凶猛的瑞兽，貔貅以前的分公母的，雄性为“貔”，雌雄为“貅”，也有头生一角貔貅和双角貔貅之分别，一角为“辟邪”，两角为“天禄”，但如今貔貅的外观却没有那么讲究，大多以一角为主。
